On the 25th of March, come to the magnificent Thermisia and enjoy an exquisite feast with traditional dances and the scent of the War of Independence. For the Greeks, this day is extremely important and constitutes a double feast: the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary and the Greek Independence Day. So, a double celebration is held at the main square of the village, organized by the local authorities.
After the morning Service, you can watch students parading proudly in traditional costume that which our ancestors once wore while resisting the conquerors. Parents and citizens admire and applaud the children, proud of the next generation. After the parade, at the square, a lot of young people and dance clubs in traditional costumes dance folk dances accompanied with folklore music. Folk dances like Balos, Tsamikos and Kalamatianos will take you on board a journey through tradition.
