Athens and Epidaurus Festival promises you magical summer nights, full of music, theatre and dance!
Spanning 66 years, the Festival has welcomed some of the greatest artists of the international and local scene, in collaboration with the most prestigious Greek and international organisations, attracting large audiences from around the world. Every summer, the Festival’s programme involves theatre, opera, classical music and dance performances at various locations in Athens, while Ancient Greek drama is staged at the Epidaurus Ancient Theatre, a two-hour drive southwest of Athens.
This summer, after a long period that the arts have been dealing with extremely difficult circumstances due to Covid-19 restrictions, Athens Epidaurus Festival has presented a rich programme that includes all kinds of shows at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus , the Little Theatre of Ancient Epidaurus, Peiraios 260 and the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, The programme is organised through 4 main themes: Gender Identities, Contemporary Ancients, Surprising Encounters, 1821 Bicentennial. Meanwhile, hip hop and electronic music are making a big entrance. As always, the latest artistic creations will be staged at all four venues and the audience will have the opportunity to meet with his favorite artists.
